Recently Dr Michael Hammond, Associate Professor and Director of Research, Students Centre for Education Studies at Warwick University, conducted an interview with John Yeadon about the Coventry/Dresden Arts Exchange. Coventry/Dresden Art Exchange exhibitions and events have attracted broader audiences and interest due to its relevance to Coventry’s history and commitment to ‘peace and reconciliation’ and international friendship. CONDITION HUMAINE With fellow Coventry artist Lisa Gunn and alongside Kerstin Franke-Gneuss and Monika Marten from Dresden, John is participating in the “Condition Humaine” exhibition, which is showing at Kreuzkirche in Dresden. Why Dresden? Coventry was the world’s first twin city when it formed a twinning relationship with Stalingrad (Volgograd) in 1944. Dresden links were set up in 1956 and Coventry was formally twinned in 1959 as a gesture of peace and reconciliation.
